I bought two tomato plants this year because I absolutely love home grown tomatoes and have been very successful in the past with growing them. Since at the time when I bought them we were really trying to get our budget on track, I was able to rationalize the plants as part of the grocery budget because of course some day in August they were to produce enough tomatoes to feed us for a couple weeks. So far the tomato plant never grew and the grape tomatoes have produced one little lone tomato that was eaten by me in about .02 seconds! There's still hope for the grape tomatoes but as for saving us any money on just buying tomatoes...I'd say this was a fail. ;-)
