Let's Go Cubs!

Woohoo baseball season is upon us again! The Cubs are back at it today and have a clean slate! To celebrate I decided I had a thing or two to teach Lucas about baseball and our team.

This was his reaction when he learned that it's been 106 years since the Cubs have won the World Series...I believe he was shocked! (Aren't we all!?)

(Thank you Andrea for providing the reading material
for us this morning!)

None the less I believe he is as proud as his parents to sport his only Cubs gear (thank you Melinda for this home-made onesie since we don't have any Cubs shirts yet -bad bad mom!!)

Let's Go Cubs!! Get some runs! Could this be the year!?

Puppicinno!

Cooper had his first puppicinno last week...and loved it! The barista asked if he wanted one so I said, "why not!?" and Cooper was in heaven! Spoiled dog! :)

Lucas - Week 10

Lucas is 10 weeks old! He's growing so fast! This is probably the last week he'll be able to fit in his 3 month sleepers, they're just getting too tight. His cheeks are still rounding out and and his legs are mighty chubby! He still loves going for walks and constantly moving. He's bored when at home and very fussy no matter what I do to entertain him so no changes there. He's up at night every 3-5 hours to eat but goes down super easy when he's done. Though he won't go to sleep until about 10:00 or 11:00 every night.

Going from the bottles because of the breastmilk jaundice back to nursing has been a weird switch. Sometimes he'll eat for only 10 minutes on one side but other times he still goes for 40-45 minutes. So I'm trying to figure that out but I'm not concerned since he's still gaining weight. Just makes it tricky because then I still have to pump when he's only doing 10 minutes on one side otherwise I'm about to explode! (I'd rather do that though and have extra milk than not have enough...but then again is that why he's fussy sometimes when eating? Is it coming out too fast!? Oh breastfeeding is so complicated!! A bottle is so much easier, you see exactly how much they eat!)

Lucas is talking a lot more these days and loves the interaction with us. He is also smiling more which makes me smile more!!

His grumpy face

Sleeping on Daddy - he loves cuddling!!

Play time!

<3

Patiently waiting while I shower (though after about 4 minutes his patience runs out!)

Cranky Lucas

I left Lucas with Jason so I could get my haircut. It was the longest 4 hours of my life. (Okay I'm being rather dramatic here but I really missed him!)
After about an hour into the haircut I wanted to be back home with this little guy! But knowing he was home safe with Dad helped a little, I guess!?

Cooper is a great babysitter! He pretty much doesn't leave Lucas' side! He's a good big brother!

Loving bath time!!

On our way out of the lab...hoping it's the last time he has to get bloodwork to check his billirubin levels!? This was him celebrating! ;-)

Morning snuggles!

Happy St. Patricks Day from the cutest little boy ever! I think I kissed him about 1,000 times today. I mean, how could you resist!?

Lucas - Week 9

I am so behind in posting this! Over a week late! I have an excuse though...it's that swet little boy in all the pictures below. He doesn't enjoy the daytime hours unless he's in his car seat or being rocked...so I get nothing done. I say he has two modes, sleeping or crying. But in all fairness, I'd much rather him be fussy during the day than at night. And while he still wakes up every 3-4 hours to eat he really sleeps at night. (Just not until 11:00 or so!)

We had his 2 month check-up and he sure has grown! He is 12 lbs 5 oz as of March 6 and 22 1/2 inches! His bilirubin levels haven't gone down in the past 6 weeks so we had to give him formula for 48 hours. It was super nice that Jason could help with the night feedings (I still had to pump) but I missed the bonding of nursing. Plus it was hard to get him back to nursing and his poop schedule was all off. But the formula did help bring his levels down and he doesn't look like such a pumpkin anymore!! I'm so so happy about that! Hopefully no more trips to the lab for bloodwork!?

As each day goes on I truly fall more and more in love with him. Must be something about all the late nights and early mornings we've spent together or all the rocking I've done but I am so totally in love!!

One night he wouldn't stop crying and since he loves baths we brought him upstairs for a bath. As we were getting the towels and everything else needed Jason set him down in his tub and he instantly stopped crying. Cracked us up!

His shirt says it all!

At the doctors office...about to be weighed. Breastmilk jaundice and thrush...I'd say with both he's still getting plenty of nutrients!!

Thanks Jason for cutting off my head. Me and the porky baby!

Lucas loves his bath time, teeth chattering through the entire time but still happy as could be!

So peaceful when he sleeps, how could you not want to cuddle with him!?

Lucas - Week 8

Lucas is now 8 weeks! Another fun-filled super fast week it's been. We woke up on Monday which was my birthday and he gave us his first real smile. I kind if captured it below but it was so sweet. He was hanging out with me like we always do in the morning and Jason walked into the room and started talking and Lucas started smiling. Jason said he just had gas, I am convinced he was smiling at the sound of Jason's voice!

Monday was probably the best birthday I've ever had! Lucas and I really bonded that day, out and about doing fun things together. We started with the Le Leche meeting which we were at for 2 1/2 hours! I already blogged about that here, but the rest of the day was great. It was 68 degrees and sunny! We went to Fazoli's for lunch, yum! I hit up H&M since most of my winter clothes are less than flattering on me. We also went to a couple other store in that outdoor mall. We took a break in the Trader Joe's parking lot where I fed him and we both sweat like crazy because it was so hot! ;-) Then we went grocery shopping in the new Trader Joes and Lucas was awake the entire time taking in all the sights, sounds and smells of the store. As if that wasn't enough we went out to dinner with Jason to a cute little Italian place I've been wanting to try. Lucas slept through that. It was such a special birthday celebrating it with my favorite 2 boys!

My favorite thing about Lucas this week is that his hair is starting to come in ! It's so cute! He has this little peach fuzz at the top of his head.

Last weight check for Lucas was 11 lbs 11 oz! Growing little boy!

Luke smiling for the first time!

Checking everyone and everything out at Trader Joes!

Morning snuggle time

More morning snuggles

Out and about with Mom

Getting ready to be weighed at lactation consultant

Loved this of Jadon dressing Luke - wherever Lucas is, Cooper and Sam are! Protective big brothers!

Shopping at Home Depot - love this picture!!

At church, in the nursing room since he had to eat. Then was fussy the rest of the time! So thankful for a room to sit in so we can still attend church and not disrupt anyone!

Warming up after a bath...don't you just want to cuddle up with him!?

Asleep in his swing. He's starting to like it more this week!

Hanging out with Dad, supposed to be sleeping (hence the little cover)

Lots of pics in his car seat...busy week I guess!
