The Dam Run and Ride

Saturday I needed to run a 5k to keep up with my training and was really excited to find that there was a run on the Dam Road which is just a few minutes from our house. I went out too fast so it was a tough run but I was so excited to learn that I ran it at less than a 10:00 pace! I seriously hate running here in Colorado...it hurts to breathe here, so I was really proud of myself! I love that Jason and Lucas came to cheer me on. They were right at the end of road at around Mile 2..and Lucas was smiling and waving. I love these two so much!

Date Night TIMES TWO

First I have to say I love our babysitter, Carrin! I love that she watches Lucas often, nearly every other week so Jason and I can go out on a date. We both look forward to our date nights so much. We are able to reconnect and have good, adult conversation, and I love the night away from the typical bedtime routine. I love actually putting on makeup and being able to wear jewelry. I'm so thankful we have a sitter who we really trust and who is dependable so we can enjoy out nights out!

This past week I heard The Trippin Billies were playing at the Centennial Summer Concert series kickoff event. Obviously, I'm a huge DMB fan and I didn't want to miss out on this so I scheduled Carrin and was so excited for out date night. I had been craving Mexican food and have been wanting to go to back to a restaurant that we hadn't been to in a long time. The date night was planned and I had been looking forward to it all week! Friday afternoon just a couple hours before Carrin was coming Jason informed me that the concert was on Saturday, not Friday. I was so bummed!! (I had checked the schedule several times too...I don't know how I missed it.) We still had an amazing dinner out and half way through dinner we found out my friend, Stefani, could watch Lucas on Saturday for the concert. So we did our dinner...which was delicious. (seriously...mouthwatering!) Then on Saturday night after we put Lucas to bed, Stefani came and watched him so we could go listen to some good tunes. It rained on us a good part of the night but I still had a blast. (I think Jsaon had fun too?! ;-) It was a perfect weekend of time for just Jason and I to unwind and reconnect and listen to some good (free) music.

was hoping for a swirl like Uncle Julio's but it wasn't the same so Jason drank it for me so I could get a frozen Sangria...delicious!

About to get rained on but having a blast with my best friend

a little dancing and singing to Trippin Billies

June 1-5 Cuteness

Just running around the house in his pj's with some sunglasses on!

Yelling at Cooper when he barks.  Hmmm, guess we do that a lot?  We are being watched, our every move!

Loves Coopers pool!

Thanks Grandma and Papa for the water table! Finally got it out and it was a huge hit! He especially loves the penguin that came with it!

Won't eat corn we cut up for him but he ate a ton right off the ear!

Sitting in Daddy's work chair in his office!

Just sitting on a box, eating his sandwich watching the cars go by.

Loves reading his books and making animal noises to accompany them.  Usually the animal sounds are all the same sound, a dog barking. :)

More crazy Colorado weather...got some hail, huge hail.

This day he loved his raspberries and blueberries and was a super good eater...most says he won't eat anything. Isn't he just the cutest with that sweet little grin!?

I drink so much water and brought my water bottle into his room when I went to get him in the morning and he asked for it immediately. Now every morning I go into his room with my water and he gets a drink...he chugs it!

Our rec center had a summer kickoff party and Lucas loved the obstacle course, anything he can climb on, under or through and he is a happy boy!

Playgroup at Ashley's - June 3

Ashley hosted Playgroup a couple weeks ago and we all went to her community park and played on the playground. Lucas loved playing with Liam and giving him hugs. Dionna played Ring Around the Rosie with them which he also loved. It was sweet watching Lucas imitate Liam.

1st Time at the Splash Pad

Lucas loved the splash pad. I knew he would because he loves water but he really loved it! He was squealing the whole time and running back and forth between the different sides. When the water stopped he'd play in the little draining area. He was in Heaven.

End of May Update

Forgot to post this one too!  So behind and seriously unorganized with these!
Another low key week.  Lots of trips to the gym and runs so not many play dates or such! Lucas went to the doctor on Friday to have the bump on his head checked out.  He bumped it last week and it hasn't gone down much. Doctor said to keep an eye on it...nothing to worry about right now but of course, I worry. ;-)

Putting Lucas in his car seat and he insists on wearing my sunglasses.

Let me down Mom!

He loves being on Daddys shoulders. But lately he's been flopping backwards so his head hangs down.  Because being up on Daddy's shoulder's inst exciting enough

I LOVE this pic of him! Captures his personality so well....always happy and on the go!

Memorial Day weekend we had a fire for about 20 minutes. I miss the lake so much on the holiday weekends so we tried having a fire. Jason got me smores for Mother Day since I love them so much but the weather hasn't cooperated so it was fun to get them out.

FINALLY got his table and chairs out. I bought them at Goodwill at a really good price with the intention of painting them since they were bright yellow.  I'm so not crafty so they sat and sat but Jason took over and got them done. Lucas loves them. He doesn't sit very well but like climbing on them. I found him on our window seat a day after we put the chairs in. He climbed up the chair then onto the window seat. Not cool, Lucas!

Memorial Day was way off for us this year. As I said, we usued to go to the lake.  Every year for as long as I can remember. Since we've moved here we haven't set any traditions. We started the bon fire up which I hope will continue. But this year we woke up at 7:30 to hammering on our house.  Apaperntly the siding people were wripping out siding off. Our home was damaged in the hil storm last fall and we knew they would be doing demo and replacing but didn't get word that it would be on Memorial Day.  I don't know if we have EVER slept in until 7:30 since Lucas was born. I wasn't too happy to be woken by them! So Lucas and I went to the outlets to do a couple returns since I knew he wouldn't do his nap in the house with all the pounding.  Pretty lame Memorial Day but I'm glad to have the siding (almost) done. (they still have a small section where a window still needs to be replaced)

It got really quiet...I went to check on him and he's sitting on the couch with his remote (one that we don't use) and he's watching The Today Show. I try not to watch TV often but usually watch the Today show in the mornings when Jason travels or when I know they're interviewing someone I like. EVERY time the concerts come on he claps and waves at the audience. If there's music he'll start dancing or we'll have our own dance party together.  Its so much fun!

Went to one of my favorite parks that I used to bring my students to. But the water was turned on (and even thought I thought ahead to bring a suit for him, I decided it was too cold).  Lucas was obsessed with the water and wanted nothing to do with the rest of the park.

I snuck in a couple swings with him too.

Daddy got noise canceling headphones so of course Lucas had to try them out too (pantless is more fun)

Lucas enjoyed all the work being done to our house all week.  Lots to look at out the window, painting being done, siding being taken off and put back on, gutters and windows being replaced
